Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to teach our diverse student body Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM - such as pop, rock, R&B, etc) voice lessons for both personal growth and professional work. You’ll be working out of our brick and mortar studio at 32nd St and Adams Ave, or you can take online clients from home if you like.
Some of the personal-goal clients have poor pitch and you’ll need to work with them, as well, and keep it positive.
Our clientele is mainly adults with strong Asian and LGBTQ+ contingents, including gender-minorities. Speaking Korean or Chinese is not necessary but we sure do appreciate it if you do.
We will need to start you off part time, but if you want 32+ hrs per week, we’ll do everything we can to get you there ASAP.
We’re looking for an applied voice teacher for our San Diego studio!

We have a preference for those with at least a 2 year vocal pedagogy certificate or Masters or higher in a vocal pedagogy majour that is not a part of a larger performance degree. However, we can make an exception for the right candidate.
Typically, we invest in our employees by paying them to attend sessions in Alexander Technique, vocal performance, pedagogy, piano, or other areas. Some recent examples are we’re paying a teacher to attend piano lessons, we always spring to Alexander technique for 4 sessions at the beginning of everyone’s employment (which we pay you to attend), others have done free voice lessons or music production lessons with other faculty. We want to nurture you and your career.
We do not want anyone who feels “tough love” or such are appropriate pedagogical tools. Keeping it positive is important here.

Starting Pay: $55-58/hr
We pay for recital attendance and meetings, of course, as well as other things you do that are part of you being employed here. I know sometimes we get treated poorly by studios or schools and we want to put an end to that by example.
